Onto their fourth generation of lapdock now, and keeping alive the Continuum vision, NexDock is persevering through pandemics, industry changes, and component shortages. This is the NexDock 360, just in for review, a Continuum/DeX (etc.) lapdock that adds an extra twist to 2020's NexDock Touch. Here's my first impressions and hands-on gallery, with both Lumia and Samsung as host phones, the full review will follow.

Gallery: Fairphone 4

Another day, another new smartphone gallery, this time getting going with the Fairphone 4, the very latest from the eco-conscious Dutch company. As with the old Lumias, you get to replace the battery - and indeed almost everything else, with just a simple screwdriver - plus the specs are mid-range comparable for 2021. See also my previous Fairphone 4 head to head, plus there will be a full review on the way in a week or so.

The Duo 2 is in for review, and in timely fashion this year. Expect a few review parts and at least one imaging comparison (given the triple camera upgrade from last year's potato), but in the meantime here's our traditional image gallery, covering the unboxing and first impressions.

Gallery: NexDock Touch (DeX/Continuum lapdock)

icon

A year ago, I reviewed the NexDock 2, providing a full Type C Continuum lapdock experience for Windows 10 Mobile flagships and, importantly, any other smartphone with desktop support in its OS. So Samsung DeX on the top end Galaxy phones, Huawei's Easy Projection' and even LG with a more primitive offering. The NexDock 2 was impressive but flawed, but the NexDock Touch fixes all complaints and is The. Most. Impressive. Lapdock I've seen so far. Full review coming very soon, but here are my first thoughts and image gallery.

It's here. Somewhat belatedly, and with the Windows 10 Mobile/Continuum platform itself running out of life support. But the NexDock 2 has finally arrived, and of course it's future-compatible with Samsung Dex on Android, plus many other similar USB Type C-based systems, so it's an accessory that's applicable right across the board. I'll be reviewing it fully over the next few weeks, in conjunction with my Lumia 950 XL and Samsung Galaxy S9+, but let's start with a hands-on and unboxing gallery.

Gallery: Surface Go

No, this isn't a phone. It's not even a 'communicator' in the purest sense, since the LTE version hasn't appeared yet. But the Surface Go is a half way house between a smartphone and a full-on laptop or even a 'Pro' hybrid. Paired with a phone (to provide mobile bandwidth), the Surface Go is quite a lot of computing power and familiar interface in a surprisingly small and light package, offering something different from traditional Macbooks, laptops, even Chromebooks now, and letting you bring the power of a traditional Windows PC everywhere you go.
